On track

I first got into karting at 16, spending most of my free time at the track in my hometown. Then work and life took over, and racing took a back seat. Mechanics never did. I’ve spent most of my life taking cars and motorcycles apart and putting them back together.

Now that my life is more settled, I’ve come back to where it started. I race in the Senior Master category at circuits across Catalonia, including Sallent, Vic and Móra d’Ebre, and do my own mechanics, from chassis alignment to piston rebuilds. Between sessions I adjust the carburetor based on exhaust gas temperature, and afterwards I go through the data to work out what to change next.

What I value most is the contrast to my office job. On track there’s room for one thing only: the next corner. And I get to go fast in a place that’s built for it.

That’s also where Kartalunya DADES started. I wanted a better way to analyze my own telemetry, so I built an app for it.
