Behind the lens
When I’m not racing myself, I’m usually still at the track, just with a camera instead of a helmet. I shoot kart and car races, mostly for friends and teams I know from the paddock.
Having raced myself helps. I know where drivers brake late and which corner is about to get messy, so I’m usually in the right spot when it happens. Some of my favorite shots aren’t on track at all, though: a last-minute setup change, or a driver sitting quietly in the kart before heading out.
